Abstract

Quasiperiodic features of the North Atlantic Oscillation temporal variability on interdecadal and interannual scales are assessed. The existence of a group of stable fluctuations with periods close to 140–150, 60–80, ∼40, 20–25, and 7–9 years using the time series analysis methods of digital filtration and the wavelet analyses is shown. Based on the NCEP/NCAR re-analysis, the changes in the structure of the Black Sea near-surface wind field occurring in accordance with half-cycles of ∼60–80 year fluctuations are shown.
